The multiplayer aspect would kind of fall through. :\

i agree it would be a much better idea, it would be sooo much fun to host my own server without restrictions and make it as full or as empty as i choose. (thats to page 1 not father dante)

CS only recently was put on retail. CS is still free for those who have halflife. cs has been free for years, same with their server.

I still have a private server. I didnt know it was illegal to have :confused: Anyways, im only using it until Stefan or Geovanie will put it up then I can rid myself of 1.28 forever. But until then I just put it up and let 50 people on and we all play and have a great time. I guess I need to stop but its so addicting. *Hopes Stefan, Geo, or a PW tester will see Babylon and beg for it to be put up, Then realizes he is stupid and goes to bed*

Fine, my idea's trash but why are harmless 1.28 servers illegal?

yeah, surely they cannot conntend with the big servers, unless of course i made one ^_^

Ppl would upgrade ther accounts more if they could play on private servers with their upgraded accounts...think about it:
Johnny downloads a game called graal which he heard about from his uberl33t friends. Johnny is very excited, after 3 months johnny is bored as hell with his account, he upgrades, 3 months later he beats all the other PWs, now johnny is hella pissed because he can't play anything else, what will johnny do? Now since johnny has an upgraded account he has access to literally 100s of private servers....Johnny is very happy he upgraded and encourages his other lamer friend to upgrade his account, practiacally everyone in his school upgrades so they can play some server or other....Now Stefan is very happy while he sits on pile of money...

Of couse i'm assuming that first your account gets checked to see it is upgraded and once it gets okay you are forwarded to a specefic IP... Of course I agree with stefan if only one person needs to upgrade to play on private server, then many people would say? hmm..why the hell am i playing this crap? I'll go play this for free....but overall it is good idea
