Please. Start. Thinking. Thanks. Eventually, you are going to realise that I have not said one incorrect word, grant that my point is true, and then insult this thread. Watch. :) |
I haven't read the entire thread but I know enough I think. Why are we making a big deal about punishing for PK'ing when there's other serious offenses being commited? :( *sigh* This is what disapoints me about Graal, someone will get punished for PK'ing but when you're harassed and cursed at severly hardly anything is done. :\

Expliclity. It does not matter. What does matter is you should know what "HARASSMENT" and "A PLAYER NOT HAVING A GOOD TIME" is.

Unfortunately, there lacks such an explicit statement, thus I am correct. |
From what I gather this thread has to do with people not wanting to be PKed on GraalKingdoms...
I thought there was some sort of 'peaceful' system that stopped you from PKing people, while stopping others from PKing you... 0.o; |
There is a system as such. However, you get less experience when killing monsters if you're not in battle mode, so some people go into battle mode when they don't necessarily want to.

With anything Stop means stop and if person does not stop that is then causing me or person who is being pked to stop enjoying thier game. As a female player I have been pked just because they "think" aww female=weak then they get P'od when they find out they cant touch me so then they try to lame with magic. As a leader I am swamped with pms and I dont appreciate when im trying to answer them someone like crylin coming along and shooting magic bullet and killing me. That sort of stuff interferes with My enjoyment of the game. And No I will not go to Peaceful mode to give enjoyment to those who would love to say they made Nayoko go into peaceful mode. :-P Empress Nayoko Hiro(Kureani Joukai) |

See, I go on battlemode to try and get more experience from monsters, since lords now only give me ~20k in Pmode. What provoked me to make this thread in the first place was this: I was sitting at govannon's altar, minding my own business, trying to bless some magnifying glasses. This is playing the game, and it was a vital process which needed to be done in order for me to get on with the rest of the things i wanted to do. Along came like DR or some *****, and started PKing me every time i went near the altar, thus preventing me from blessing. Preventing me from blessing meant i couldn't go on to do other things, it put a spanner in the works and halted my whole line of work. He did not manage to kill me, let alone spam-kill me (because i ran away every time he tried; thus preventing me from blessing magnifying glasses), but nevertheless, i do believe that hsi actions prevented me from playing the game and prevented me from enjoying it. In fact i got very angry and upset (and so i made this thread). Also, by PKing people that are in Bmode to get more experience and not to fight other players, they are forcing those players into Pmode. Forcing them into Pmode means that they are forcing them to recieve less experience from monsters, and so preventing them from playing the game to full enjoyment. Then they run after them sometimes, taunting them, and some i've seen even have idiotic things in their profiles such as:"Nubs forced onto Pmode: 10". Harrassment and an action restricting and inhibiting one from using and enjoying the graal online system. I think, as do many others that suffer the tyranny of the PlayerKillers, that stronger action should be taken against them. Being on Pmode inhibits the use of the Graal System, and being on Bmode also inhibits it, so until these fools are punished there is a neverending loop of User Agreement breaches. Sort, plz. :( |
I just think that the peaceful/battle mode should be changed. There is a little icon next to the Stats GUI, that has two swords straight up if your peaceful, and crossed if your on battle mode. (Diablo fanatics know what i'm talking about ;))
Now, remember the little symbols that float above your head when your in kingdom mode? When your peaceful, the two swords dangle above your head, pretty small and the same style as the kingdom icons. When your in battle mode... well, you understand now right? Now, when you click battle mode, and your in it, you can switch right back out again, with a click of the buttion at the top of the screen. Simple. However, there is one catch. If someone is attacking you, you cannot switch out. You must wait atleast 10 seconds (or whatever) after the last damage dealed is done, until you can click the buttion to go into peaceful. This is going to make people angry when you go: "Awhaha PKer, you can't get me now!", but it will work to keep you from being harassed while leveling up. |
I wasn't around when this kingdom mode stuff was about, so i don't really know, but i can guess...and my idea is probably a cliche of it:
You can go into either battle mode or Kingdom mode when you ring the bell/either bell. Battlemode means you can kill and be killed by anyone else in battlemode. Kingdom mode means you can kill and be killed by anyone else in kingdom mode. You have to be a member of a kingdom and you have to be wearing your tag for kingdom mode to be active. You can't be in battle mode and kingdom mode at the same time. |
Hm... being able to switch at any time sounds good - with some restriction to prevent someone from hitting then switching. A weak player could change to duel with another weak one (outside the arena, for fun), but switch back afterwards to avoid heavy duty pkers. Also, you could be afk for a moment without ending up dead and killed all over again.

You may not engage in conduct or communication while using the Graal Online System which is unlawful or which restricts or inhibits any other user from using or enjoying the Graal Online System.
I fail to see how PKing is restricting or inhibiting anyone from enjoying Graal. The way I see it is that if a person goes into battle mode, they should know the consequences. Who cares if you get a bit more exp for being in bmode? Either risk being PKed for more exp, or play it safe and just not get the extra exp. Get over it. |
It goes for all playerworlds. It is a rule. And GK is no exception.

I am tired of arguing about it. It is right there, explicit and plain as large grassy field. :)
|
I would like to note that the 'extra experience' is given to you because of the risk you run while being in battle mode, so you can't say you're in battle mode 'just for the experience.' It comes with the risk.
|
Yes you can. Why not just take my sugestion into concideration.

I'm just getting tired of this, now. I've just spent the last, like, 15 minutes getting HARRASSED, and tseng reckons it's not against the rules.
Below's a screenshot of me getting attacked by Alex, asking him to stop, and him just ignoring it. I don't want him to do it. It's as offensive and injurious to me as is going up to a player in the game being controlled by a 14 year old who's -very- offended by sexual content and saying stuff like *grabs player's testicles. Molests his groin* and stuff. I asked him several times to stop attacking me, usually while being CHASED AROUND THE ROOM by him. Keywords there are CHASED AROUND. He was preventing me from being in there. Staying in there would have meant death and loss of platinum coins, coins which i had worked hard for and the loss of them would mean restricted play. |
I dont think the PWA can do anything about Kingdoms :\

And then of course after having run out of the tradehouse to avoid dying once more, i come back in, manage to stay alive for a little while (having to run around and around being chased now by about 3 people. YES THREE).
One of them then casts a load of spells and finally kills me, yeah, great, loss of plat, getting warped away from trade house, and now i don't want to go back. Yes, that's right, they've scarred me so that i don't dare go back. This could easily be compared to someone sexually harrassing a person on this game, causing them not to go back to the server or even play the game again. Blatant harrassment in both cases, and it's just baffling how ANYONE can say that it isnt. Quote:
I don't see at all how constant attacking whenever you go to a certain honeypot for PKers is any less haenous than spam-killing. Both of them prevent the victim from playing. Both of them cause distress and anger and unhappiness to the victim. Both of them are against the victim's will. Both can be solved but only through inhibition of the victim's playing. One would almost think you were in favour of these selfish, cruel and upsetting beasts, Tseng. |

Edit: I just read the rest of your posts, this is getting hilarious. |

Battlemode isn't just for PKers. It's there for kingdom members to fight with other kingdom members, and for people to get extra experience too. Why should we be stopped from interacting accordingly with other kingdoms, and gaining extra exp that we have the right to gain, just because PKers want to kill people other than other PKers? If you were at the shops, and there was a shortcut through the woods which would enable you to get home quicker, you would want to take it. If you got raped in the woods, that would count as sexual harrassment. On GK, the shops are a player's current level, the woods are battlemode, and home is the level they wish to achieve. Being raped in the woods = being PKed in battlemode. And so, it is harrassment. Or would you not consider being raped in the woods as harrassment, eh WL? eh? Would you not? |

Mcgee, if you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
Listen to waterlord. If you don't want to be pked, get in peaceful mode! I remember when I was new and I had rivals and when they attacked me and I was weak, I made it my goal to become stronger just so I could withstand their attacks. So I did and eventually I could beat them effortlessly. Quote:

And besides, that was, if you like, an analogy. Quote:

Quote:
Basically, the main point is, if you go into battle, you take the risks of being pked. Don't want to be pked? Stay in peaceful mode. Think of it this way: If you go outside, you are taking the risk of getting bug bites, getting run over by a car, etc etc. Now, if you stayed inside your home, none (or most) of those things won't happen to you. Now, you decide to go outside and get bitten. You CAN'T complain because YOU had a choice and it could of all been solved if you hadn't gone outside. Think about it. |
Ruatha - as a victim of the behavior you've described, I would be the first to support such a rule/place to draw the line, if I felt it had a concrete enough basis and could easily be enforced. Unfortunately, neither of those two requirements are fulfilled, and thus I drew the line where I already mentioned.
Your real-life analogies are also flawed. There is no sexual violation against one's will here on graal, thus the correlation is nonexistent. |

And once again, you're missing the point i was trying to make. That point was that PKers are, as i have said plenty of times now, inhibiting the use and enjoyment of the Graal Online System, just like those bugs and cars and stuff are stopping people from leaving the house. Stopping us from using/enjoying the system is a violation of the user agreement, which i'm getting bored of repeating since people seem to ignore it, or make up some excuse as to how it isnt. Edit since tseng posted while i was writing this one Quote:
Although on the second one, yes, i can see how it would be hard to implement :( But still, there could be set up like a...i dont know, something stupid like a "criminals" section of the GK forums set up where people could post their evidence for you or someone else to examine and decide whether the case was genuine or not, and then punish the criminal accordingly. It'd be better than having your emails and PMs chocablock with complaints... Quote:

The only people these PKers listen to are their PKing buddies, or some friend or guy who's been sucking up to them a lot lately, and they PK each other sometimes too. Quote:
Mine could have been talking about decisions also, depending on how you interpret it. You can take the shortcut through the woods which saves time and effort, and would be enjoyable were it not for the very disturbed person lurking amongst the trunks, or you can take the long way which is inneficient, boring and you might be late back for dinner :( Quote:
Quote:
"You CAN enjoy the game being in peaceful, as you can by being in battlemode (Only if PKing)." The current situation is that Battlemode gives no enjoyment to players wanting to do things other than PK. |
Ruatha - you are attempting to draw a correlation between rape and harassment.
Sorry, but no. There is a dramatic difference between harassing someone and raping them; the latter involves physical, emotional, and sexual trauma, wheras the former is nowhere near as serious. |
Quote:
If you were walking through the woods, and that were to happen, you didnt want it to happen, it was forced upon you. Thus is the same with getting pked while you are using bmode for the extra exp and such. You dont want to be pked, hunted, and disruped, yet you are. The comparasions seem relevant enough to me, although distant, it did for the said situation, seem to work :) |

Unless he was some kind of a *****, like people who don't stop doing things to you even after you ask them not to, you could have said "I don't want to trade with you" or "I don't want any diamonds" and he wouldn't have done it again. If you say you don't want to fight/get PKed to a PKer, he will ignore it and carry on. The guy should have just put the diamonds on the trade tables though since that's what they're there for...he was being stupid opening trade screens if he was in a trade house... |
