Of course you won't get it - you don't deserve to.

Well, I don't meet the requirements. Really no reason for me to submit an application anyway.

Good luck to all of those sending in an application. It's good to see that the PWA is getting new members. ^_^

dorfindel 10-03-2003 05:08 AM

Wow :O..I'd try, except for that seems like it would take up to much of my time o.O...ah well. Good luck to everyone especially Knuckles who *edit*SP Agent should support >:O!

Yes I would like to see Knuckles join in the race for PWA myself. :)

DustyPorViva 10-03-2003 05:32 AM

So much competition.... I really want to get into it...

MadWolf 10-03-2003 06:02 AM

I hope this gives people a chance who are not popular to get it, based on their criteria.

Zethar 10-03-2003 06:09 AM

I don't agree with the must be an admin part :( One of the BEST people could be playing graal withou any staff position what so ever. People learn fast in a position where you have to know what to do. When I started out as FAQ on 2k1 I didn't know a fair amount of stuff. But now I know tons.

Exactly, he has not changed, he was very rude to me recently, on Graal: The Adventure, saying horrid stuff and cussing me out in toalls for no apparent reason, alot of people still do this, such as people from graal on other game forums saying "OH NO EMILY IS HERE BAN HER SHE'S A SPAMMER AND IS UGLY!"

It's clearly a requirement for the reporting facet of the job.

You recieved experience as a FAQ... If you made it to admin on a server where you weren't handed the job you'd know quite a bit about graal by then...

I think it's a good requirement

Spark910 10-03-2003 10:44 AM

Sorry this page has take... ooo... 10mins to load. My connection is now slower than Dial-Up!

Here are a few things I read and want to sort out:

Doomsday = Sorry Tifa can not support. The playerworld is not online. I know it wasn't her fault it went down, but still.

Supports = Yes I will check up on supports

If you are offered, but dont take it = Your not blacklisted, but chances are we wont put you on the list to be asked again. You'd have to apply next time to get back in.

I will try and go on at school to read these again. If I missed out a question, just repeat it after this post of mine.

o.o err I intentionally spelt that wrong because of an easyly breakable habit of spelling wrong and typing bad grammer to make my self look important ;). But really if I need to I can be formal and correct.

syltburk 10-03-2003 02:35 PM

I dont realy know, but is this tryout based on how much freinds you have?

Part one of the application seems to be based more or less on previous experience.

As Spark said, the supports this time around will be less important than the last application. Plus if you make an outstanding application, the application will get you in rather than the supports.

You need to get up to 3 supporters. These will be used to help me know that the managers wish for you to help within the team. However if you complete part 2 and 3 to a certain standard, you will not need to rely on these supports. As before manager is the best to get. But as I have said the supports will be less important this time.

bo0ey 10-03-2003 05:55 PM

That's good. Because I'd rather work for a job than
run around looking for people who would support me.
Yes, I have a bunch of friends in high places but they
either supported someone else already or are not going
to support. (Or are going to make you beg)

So I'm hoping just answering the 2nd and 3rd parts
correctly, as best as I can, will be enough. :)

protagonist 10-03-2003 08:24 PM

I know lots of staff, but I'm aiming for all-manager/global support. Unfortunately, the global thing didn't turn out so I'll ask another manager friend.

That is there for good reason , the "job" requires you to be able to manage and the best way to gauge what you know about managing is by holding an Admin job on a server. You must be able to manage your time as to your work load you have. You will be dealing with the public a lot so the PWA needs to know if you are able to interact with the players and Staff of a PW in a manner that uses wisdom, tact and respect. This is not a game but a job as Spark stated and you have to take it serious. If your past performance on Graal is not that of being serious about the job you have or had then the PWA Job will be beyond your grasp.

Only the serious minded and well balanced people need to apply otherwise you will most likely be wasting your time. Being at least an Admin on a server is nothing more than a way to gauge how you react to pressures and people of the game.Your ablitity to solve problems and deal with whatever comes along, this is why this is nessary. Without it you have no way to gauge if a person can handle the job or not. It is way much different being a player than being Staff , I have heard many tell me "I did not realize just how hard it is to manage a PW". If you have never been Staff you haven't a clue what goes on and no Staff job is simple or easy. All Staff are harressed, tempted and just plain given a hard time because others think this is funny.

It's stressfull and you don't get much from it other than an occasional pat on the back from a upper Staff Member. It test your character and your personality to be able to cope with all the abuse you get. This is why you need to be an Admin on a server to see if you measure up for the next step like the PWA.;)

I support dusty!! Even though he probably wont find any more and he doesnt want to give up helping other playerworlds I know he would do a great job at pwa.

I already have two other supports without even looking... :P
That's three, what makes you think I couldn't find any?

zs0 10-04-2003 03:39 AM

Meh, i'll do it tomorrow, its 6:10 and I have to get off in like 4-5 hours.. so i don't have enough time :P

Well you got all 3 so what do you say? gonna be pwa?

Zethar 10-04-2003 05:09 AM

I wouldn't mind applying, but i'm not qualified =(. Never had an Admin position.

Kaimetsu 10-04-2003 05:57 AM

Hey people: Less of the name-calling, please. It's fine that you think Joe Whoever is not fit for the PWA, but Spark will most likely pick up on that himself. Any criticisms here will only lead to heated arguments.

Shaun 10-04-2003 06:08 AM

I believe I will apply but I know not of who I should ask for support. Most people I know that are able to support me are either gone or dislike/forgot me.

Since I'm new to this whole thing, I would be very appreciative to anybody who would inform me of what qualities not already listed in the initial post would be favourable to my application.

DragonX 10-04-2003 10:17 AM

I was contemplating whether I should apply or not. I have come to the conclusion that this time, I will not be filling out an application. I am on a long hiatus from Graal (due to school, and other games and other things) therefore I would not have the time to do any PWA duties. Best of luck to everyone that tries out.

Dang. You'd make a pretty good one I'd recon.

Anyway, to those bashing or whining about other participants, consider this: it's not a very good show of character or confidence if you feel the need to post dissatisfaction with other applicants. This is !!!JOB!!! application. Would you say to your possibly future manager "Hi, I find the other applicants incompetent so you should pick me"? Is this how you'll treat the people you are less fond of if you get the job?
This job is alot like judging. You have to be able to leave your personal likes and dislikes behind when you inspect servers, you can't have a chip on your shoulder or else we get !!!favouratism!!!. There you have it.

Being the supports do not add much weight to the application , having a lot of "friends" in high places won't do much good. It is being based on you and you alone not who you know or who knows you. I think this is good and the fairest way to conduct these applications. My hats off to Spark for doing it in this manner. ;)

I agree, supports I think can sometimes have negative effects on the choosing of people and how they do their job("support me and I will look the other way on some of the complaints I get, etc").

Spark910 10-05-2003 03:57 AM

Sneaky Spark , waiting for people to eliminate themselves from consideration before they even get a chance to send in the application. Very Sneaky...:p

People should have disproved my beliefs that they should not be considered for PWA. My posts should have been thought of as real-life simulation, as they will be subjected to far, far worse should they be chosen - how they react to that kind of stuff is important to consider when deciding whether or not that person should be PWA.
