wouldn't you be mad if they took down your home server? maybe even quit graal for a while in protest?
If it was shut down for good reason, I would be upset, but would say nothing, and I wouldnt quit graal

This is bull****. Warcaptain made a save script for Engima, and the next day it got the server shut down. How come UN isn't getting in trouble for this?
Exactly, and even if the npc is removed, the fact remains that they did it to begin with, and it was a stunt to bring in more people...

Kinda like one person deleting a server and nothing happens, and another person deletes a server and gets banned.
Totally agree

I say we organize a protest/boycott of Graal until UN is shut down. This is totally unfair that one server gets special treatment just because of playercount.

I have seen the stuff before people came to complain to me (at least 6 admins on one day x-x). The thing saved the look, gralats and hearts, no items or such things, but it was quite complicated to use. It has been changed to only save the look (what you can do with sethead etc. anyway).

Such a saving feature is very easy to script, but it is of course not allowed and servers will get shut down if they allow trial players to get advantages that are reserved for paying customers. Trial accounts are for testing the game.

So does that mean UN is going bye bye? Maybe I misunderstood you.

ETD 03-24-2003 07:52 PM

i hope it does too... but i doubt it would happen.

I think that post was more of a warning for the furure? just to make clear what would happen if anyone else did it again...
(i hope i'm wrong, and UN goes bye bye... but i doubt it will)

You said "servers will get shut down if they allow trial players to get advantages that are reserved for paying customers"
Isnt that basically what UN did?
Have they been warned?
Because the fact they are still there says they got away with it.

It's all about money Tifa. UN can do what it wants because it generates the most revenue for Graal out of all of the playerworlds.

adam 03-25-2003 06:52 PM

Would be easier to restrict trial accounts if we could tell who they were.....?

whoo hoo >:) and ps i think there should be a way to ban a trial account and it stays banned :P instead of everything being reset you could make it so only bans dont get reset

No **** sherlock, that's why they SHOULD have been shut down, but NO! UN gets special treatment.
