No, all living beings have magic. It's part of life. The problem is that the person doesn't know how to focus it, and that's what the talisman does. It provides a template for a magical effect.

If what you say is true, then it doesn't matter what the talisman is, just anything enchanted with magic, be it tooth, stick, or gem.

This isn't about enchanting things, this is about intrinsic magical patterns. I guess you could take a diamond and imprint one of these patterns onto it, but the point is that they come free with organic matter. A person could enchant the tooth or whatever to strengthen the pattern and thus augment the channeling effect, and since they have a predefined starting point it would most likely be much easier than creating a diamond talisman.

How do you know that the tooth can focus the energy? Why can't you focus it, yet a tooth on a string can... Makes no sence to me.

I'm getting really confused now, and sleepy, I'll withdraw from the arguement, and just leave it at this: LEAVE THE CURRENT TALISMAN ALONE!!!! Thank you :asleep:

It obviously wouldn't be from a mundane animal like a cat (unless the pattern that the cat's life force created were to be boosted by a mage). It'd be from intrinsically magical creatures like, for example, dragons. The magic flowing through the dragon forms patterns throughout its body, and the tooth is no exception. Because dragons are more magical than humans, the pattern in a dragon's tooth would be both stronger and descriptive of better effects when compared to a normal human tooth.

You mean Gandalf's tooth? I couldn't say for sure but Gandalf's would probably have a stronger pattern. Whether or not the pattern would describe anything useful is not for me to say.

If Excal means Gandalf, the person, then I would say Gandalf, because he has trained his body to the powers of magic. Anyone can get a talisman and use magic...but to master it, that is difficult indeed.

They're not even comparable. A dragon tooth would just focus magic, it wouldn't have any power of its own.

The Vs are large fangs, and the ' are beads of some sort, and the vs are small fangs. and image the vs are on the same level on top as the Vs
