I do always want to be the bad guy, never said I didn't.

I don't have to tell you.

You're correct, you don't, but because I'm using you as my source of information on 2K2 in this case, if you don't tell me, you can't expect me to not make incorrect assumptions.

You shouldn't make assumptions period, *******.

busyrobot 02-05-2003 01:55 AM

Hey Brad,

How old is your orc character?
Since I don't believe you restarted since you were our General, does this mean you've always been an orc?

I'd like to hear what happened between this orc and anu, and the reason for your revenge. Also, technically just for RPing sake, is Mark L Amelyn even anu?? If they are the same, are your characters the same?

This is getting confusing, please let us in on the history here.

I'm just saying it's a bad habit to get into to always assume that your country, or whatnot, is on the good side and the other is the evil one. That's how all these kids in the world become racist, nationalist, etc.

It's different in RPing though, because Brad is trying to be the "bad guy".

I don't see the problem. It's a game, having a struggle of "good vs. evil" in rping is fun. It's not doing any harm, and it isn't like they are going around stealing from every house and hacking while RPing O.o

Well yes, but the problem is that why would anyone want to be the "evil" person?

MasterNuke 02-05-2003 05:10 AM

Ahem... cleaned the throne room in half a minute =)

Since obviously you're trying to make me look bad, lemme give you it. Banthar Gorikol was an ORC general, always was. Ask Larrien. Don't gotta restart a game to change chars. I use the name anu for mark, excuse me for not being as smart as you. Anu banished the General Banthar from the kingdom of Dustari. In spite of what Anu did Banthar gathered orc warriors he had trained in Dustari to join a small tribe which lived in Northern Dustari. Calling them the Lallik, he attacked.

Not too difficult to understand, bright guy.

To Ed:

I was just kidding, we got let in. "I got friends in low places!"

TO Googi:

Being evil is fun to me. Excuse me for having fun.

Points of View...
In WW2...
The Allies said they were the good side
The Axis said they were the good side
Both were on the good side... but they both thought the other side was the bad guy.

The people of Astri believed they were doing good, but the world thought they were doing bad. Another sign of Point of View.

Dustari can be an evil Reign of Terror type Monarchy, we conquer the world, enslave the Zormites and the Samurai, kill the Foresters, and drown the Pirates. To us, we'd be the good guys.

So it's a good habit to thinking your nation is on the good side for the sake of RPing.

I wasn't trying to make you look bad, I was trying to figure out what was going on. My only history with orcs doesn't come from graal, but from AD&D (8 yrs ago), where they aren't exactly general material.

Also, I thought you left Dustari over Aramas stealing a Ring of Theives from you, and didn't know about the bone to pick with anu (although everyone seems to have good one).
Also, as anu wasn't even the King (okay, he was but only as a bad joke on Larrien's part) I didn't see the relavence of attacking Dustari. Looked like you were just bored and wanted to go in and make a mess for someone else to clean up

So thanks for explaining it, much appreciated. I might be blunt but I wasn't trying to make you look bad, I wanted an explanation to see if you were making yourself look bad, and you had a reasonable explanation.

Don't blame me for inquiring, if you RP an attack on a Kingdom, destroy a bunch of ships, make a total mess, if you don't give the background info, you can't blame us entirely if we suspect you were just acting like a jerk.

I don't have anything against people playing evil characters, as long as they don't use it as an excuse to simply annoy people.

So who are the orcs in Dustari?
They should be quite visually distinct from the humans, so they should stand out well. For the purpose of good RPing, I'd like to be able to know these folks when I see them.

Do you need everything to be so ****ing literal? For one, orcs AREN'T ONLY IN D&D. Thanks! Once again, I got re-added to Dustari becamse me and Aramas made up, then anu removed me. That too hard to understand? About being so literal, I tried to rp I had orcs in Dustari army; sorry for trying. I guess I'll try to make everything seem perfect now. I blame nothing on anyone, I am a jerk.

3. Your not in Samurai...

1. Yeah.
2. Him wasting time on scamming is equivalent to you wasting time mining, killing monsters for parts, etc.
3. Got added for the rp purpose of us 'knocking down' the castle door.

Listen,
1) No, it's not hard to understand you and Aramas made up, but it wasn't known.

2) That's fine RPing orcs, no problem - I appaud that you tried something interesting. I recommend you post a little RP background in the forums, perhaps. If you had and it went off the forums (due to age) then maybe we should have an RP Story stick thread. About being literal - no, I was using information I had to work with, you can't blame people for that if you don't go into more detail upfront.

3) Why ruin our work just because of someone between you and anu? Yeah, you sure showed him by trashing the castle. You knew we would still be cleaning up after your attack long after anu left. I'm sure his feelings now are that he's glad you did, he probably hates Dustari now too.

Remember when people would go round and sink all the ships in a kingdom before the shipyards were made? Sure, someone could say 'yeah I gain super-powers and ran around and crushed all the ships good RPing lololol,' but uh, it's still just stupid trashing of other people's stuff.

I think it's really lame to 'rp' that you gained magical powers to knock down castle walls with no effort, by doing something as lame as getting added to samurai to get in to the castle.

Now, I can understand you were ticked off with anu, so I can understand you got pissed and trashed the castle, fine, we can all move on. Here's an olive branch, it's not a big deal worthy of bickering over.

I liked you when you were in Dustari, never had a problem with you at all.

Do you listen? Sure, in rp castles can be re-built. I trashed it in an rp manner. RP. DOESUNO WUT TAT MENZ? Also, why should I have to post an rp story? Noone else does. Doesn't really make sense, "BRO". Sinking ships got you nothing, scamming gives you monru. I never said I got powers you dumb ****. Why do you think its fire? TORCHES.BURN.WOOD. I think we learn that in like 2nd grade, I could be wrong. No. Sorry, no siree! Next time a kingdom tries to attack someone, I'm going to ask for a story! Seems we need one for everything!

*hangs head in shame*, now you no my secret, - I - I dun never gone to any school'n:rolleyes:

1) I said posting an RP story would make what you're up to a little more clear, I'm not forcing you do do anything.

2) There is little difference with using a gate/ally kingdom exploit (since you are not that Kingdom) and using a hack to get into the castle. Can't you even bother to make zeplins? How would you feel if I found some ingame exploit that let me steal your stuff without hacking? DUH IZ RPING I STEAL GOOD AT STUFF HA HA. I RP YOU WERE SLEEPING HA HA.

3) Can you imagine if an enemy Kingdom attacked, and to do so they all joined an allied kingdom to get in through the gates? The only thing lamer than that is if they then decided to use some really bad RP excuse like "uh we breached the wall good with uh, by pulling on it and stuff and it came down yeah yeah."

This is a dumb argument. Post your reply if you need to and I'm going to drop it, or you can PM me if you really feel irked.

Brad 02-06-2003 11:47 PM

I hacked?

You are definately a ****ing idiot. Please, don't reply. You'll look dumber than you already do. We rp'd torching part of the castle and getting in. In my opinion thats a legal way. Sorry, I'm not a nice character. Sorry, I'm an *******. Sorry, I don't make you all happy. Do I care? Not at all.

Please don't change what I say and then call me an idiot for saying it, when I did not.

I said there is little difference in my mind between using a 'dumb loophole' and using a hack, at least for RP purposes.

That's all, nothing more.

Now, if you've read any history, when has a group of people ever *ever* burned down stone castle walls? Or did you use some RP magic to turn those walls into stone-looking wood walls?

'we burned the stone walls down, lol' is a little weak.

I would have dropped the argument, but when you change what I say and then attack me for it, well, gee I just have to respond.

So let's just let this die now.

(I even edited out the inflamitory stuff before posting to help this one die.) :)
