I want the Bridge to be taken away. I want Miru to be taken away. I want the own private rooms to be taken away. I want the newbies taken away. We are going to make all the current members make a thing about what they do. Pirates and Zormites have like nothing, I can just walk into their ship and nothing happens =\. Same with Zormites...right now Dustari is almost a shame to be in...and I am almost thinking about quitting...::sigh::

I hope Asuka can fix this

Until then...we will remain the same unless Zulithe and I can change things around

Hi Malak, you have no idea how many 'complaints' I receive on an hourly basis ^_^ But hey, since you took the time to write this out I'll tell you what I think.

It has a lot of Medieval overtones but we are not trying to 100% emulate that time period. We are drawing upon that time period as a reference for inspiration but we really don't want it to be exactly like that, we will add our own twists and turns. So if you see something that doesn't exactly fit into the time period, it's no big deal. All of the Kingdoms are inspired by different aspects of Earth's history. Dustari by Medieval Britannia, Samurai by Feudal Japan, Zormites by the Roman Empire, etc.

All of those people with unrealistic roleplay names were recruited hastely during or before the Kingdom Events to help gain us favor. I recruited about 50% of them, Lyndzey the other. A good portion of yesterday and today I have spent changing their nicknames to something that is more reasonable. So as far as the names go, that is a recent problem and it is one being delt with. It is a top priority. It was also a mistake.

Captain USA today changed his name. Now as for Kitty, it might not be the greatest name but who is to say there are not bipedal feline races on Graal? That is what I was going off of. I've spoken to Kitty before reading this about a name change (I don't mind it so much but something more serious would fit better), it is in the process of completion.

You mean our trophy? That trophy was well earned, if you go to the Samurai castle you'll see the same sort of trophies. Same with Bomy Gang.

When your roleplaying on a game like Graal, you need to accept certain facts. Like that not everyone is going to roleplay, not everyone is gonna LIKE you roleplaying around them, and that many things going on in Graal are not roleplaying related. Like Events, so we gotta work around those issues. The Kingdom Events were fun, but they aren't part of the roleplaying continuity. So when you see the trophy just ignore it while roleplaying, but outside of roleplaying it's pretty cool. Hopefully we can redo our courtyard and put the trophy there instead. Dunno yet.

Well by now you know the story of the Cactuses, since THT posted. I'm not too fond of them, but they aren't all that bad. Lots of Roleplaying is going on still. I just ran an RP event shortly before reading this and I'll probably run more later. The other Kingdoms might have died out we're determined not to let that happen with Dustari ^_^ I draw upon everything as source material for the storyline. In fact I am in the process of writing the Dustari timeline, once it is finished it will be posted on GraalNet on the same page as the Zormite history. Keep an eye out for it.

We have all sorts of things in store for Dustari. But the majority of them are on hold while Asuka is on vacation.

The main reason Dustari is so large is becase the other Kingdoms don't have the perseverance that we do. And our exclusive areas need not be removed, they are tools for roleplaying and we use them as such. We have those little extras because we work at it.

Zulithe, you seem to be missing the point here.

Medieval overtones, medieval genre, whatever. it's still RolePlaying, and it has NOTHING to do with what goes on in non-RolePlaying games nowadays. Your CTF trophy doesn't belong on the damn side of the bridge. Make an OOC room for places that have to do with the events OUTSIDE of RolePlaying. It makes no sense, otherwise.

RP events? People RPing? Hardly. I see people Pking, and saying things like 'he is did ur mjaesty cna i have 5 gralat' (of course not that exactly, but you get my idea).

And I believe THT was going for a complete Samurai look. If you'll look at his post, you'll notice he said that he didn't make the cactuses for the Samurai Kingdom. He's agreed with all of my points, and thus I would say that he as well doesn't want to see these RolePlaying Kingdoms intertwined with Graal society. They should be SEGREGATED, per say.

Sorry, but I just don't think those arguments you brought up against my complaint were that great. You seem to be one of the people who WANT the mixing of RolePlaying and normal Graal stuff. That's stupid. It just doesn't make any sense. If you want twists and turns, don't add a damn CTF trophy. Add things that make SENSE in the style that your Kingdom is based on (i.e: I would maybe add some pretty basic technology, to slowly make it look like a developed medieval world, like in FFT, if you've ever played it. That's just an example, though, and that' just me.)

Well, Stefan placed it there, we didn't really have any say in the matter. Stefan organized the Kingdom Events so we participated, and we won a trophy, and now it is by our bridge. It isn't such a big deal! It is just a tiny yellow trophy. If Asuka wants it moved then it will be moved. Don't yell at me about it. And besides, technically it is OUTSIDE of our Kingdom, it is on the other side of the moat, it poses no problem.

You seem to be harping a lot about the trophies. Why don't you walk your little self right on over to the Samurai Kingdom and take a look at their castle, eh? Like I said, they have two trophies there but I don't see you complaining about that.

And yes I run small organized events for members of Dustari. Like quests and such. Just because people outside of Dustari are unware doesn't mean it doesn't take place. I'm also trying to get Pirate Crew to work along with us so that we can get some events happening between our Kingdoms but I don't see the leader of Pirate Crew online much. Nor do I ever see more than, say, one or two pirates on. But even THEN they are still the second most active Kingdom.

As for PKing, if you come around the castle, yes you are in danager. Nobody i allowed to enter the castle unless they request an audience. Again, these are guidelines that Asuka set himelf. The bridge stays up because othewise we have masses of people coming to PK *us*, so for those complaining about not having access to the castle, well, you can blame your fellow Graalians. How can we roleplay when we have so many people coming to disturb us.

Now, in the future once the town is open, hopefully we will be able to keep the castle gates open most of the time. We'll have it open durring the day and when it turns night we'll close it (or better yet maybe we'll script it to close at night and open at daybreak)

About Segregation... the Kingdoms are pretty much as Segregated as they can get from everything else, apart from the recent Kingdom Events that took place. This isn't Val, at its heart it isn't a roleplaying server. We are just trying to work those elements into G2K1 without causing any real disturbance. So ideas like Fai's, saying we should move everything to our own Island, I don't fully agree with that. (Though I do think Pirate Crew needs its own Island to be their base, like any self-respecting Pirate Crew would have ;)) We will try to work roleplaying in, but while we run RP events at the same time some ET could be running a CTF contest so we have conflicts like that happening all the time. It isn't a winning battle, but there is a demographic for roleplaying on Graal and I hope that they will come join us.

I guess I was a little hasty in my post. I didn't add everything I should have added. Anyway, yeah, I know about all the things you mentioned.

I know Graal2001 isn't like Val, where the heart is based on RP. And yes, it's all about making the players happy. However, aren't we players, as well? And aren't we paying customers? And, as paying customers, don't we have the right to fight for the things that this large-ish group of RolePlayers want, that would make Graal, in our opinon, a better, safer, cooler place? If the non-RPing players bug Stefan about things, he gives them it, right (usually anyway)? So, I think we have the right to keep bugging him about giving us PERFECTION. Paying customers are supposed to get perfection, or damn near close to it, not whatever the owner thinks is cool. It's exactly the case with the Zormites. The fish race was supposed to help the Kingdom be even cooler, by adding in a little fish race for them. Instead, Stefan decided to let everyone be Zormites, to let everyone be a fishie, and to make them as popular as the damn bomys.

Yeah i got sick of graal2001 thats why i hardly ever play anymore i dont like the fact that you need to spend most of your time just to get money. Also how are such different time periods of kingdoms suppose to fit together? I mean theres Samuri and Medivel and fish and pirate....it just dosent fit

I DO want it to be unique and not exactly like fuedal japan, for instance I want it to be very heavily based on nature and the theme of growing dying an the cycle of life. I don't want cactuses however.

I really hope the bridge, the room and the guard isn't taken away. I think they're very good ideas.

I like that idea too, but it just temps newbies to want to join Dustari the most. It is infair to the other kingdoms, especially Samurai who only has a cactus =\. I want the bridge and Miru to just be controled by loyal dustarians, like King, Queen, Prince, Paladin, etc.

They are really good for roleplaying, if used right.
I remeber back when I first got my room me and Asuka did some rping in there.
Like the one time I was afraid of the dark at bedtime so dad went and got Miru for me.
It's just some people abuse the bridge/guard which is why it should be limited to the royal family and maybe a few others.

The Samurai castle isn't even up yet. As soon as lazy ass TrueHeaT (;)) finishes making it I'm sure they will have special advantages also.

I know... we need a castle and Loriel (a samurai member and the head level maker for g2k1) won't do it! Lamer made one but I don't like it. Stefan needs to make it because he does the best levels and NPCs. We should be getting farming and fishing NPC workers, rooms, some guards etc when the castle's done.. :(

Yeah, they are great ideas. However, Dustari's shouldn't be the only ones with it. The Samurais should have them, or at least the Miru type thing, as well as any of the Kingdoms. Only, I think it would be just too hilarious for those little fishies to follow around the Zormites, looking ever so ferocious as they do.

I also think it's funny that Miru shoots nukes. ^_^ Sorry, I'm extremely picky. I'm obsessed with things being as I would picture them to be in the type of genre they seem to be set (ie. Miedieval).

Yeah, fireblasts would be better, at least. It'd be even cooler if we gave him a little gani that he did each time. That way he takes longer during attacks (not as cheap).

zormites could use spears and powerful water guns, samurai could use knives, staffs, and kung-fu, dustari could use fire spells and swords :D
I hate visualizing to the last detail entire new graal tilesets and graal NPCs in action and huge epic things within graal and
- being too lazy to make lots of tilesets and graphics
- being too stupid to script what i visualize
- being..... too stupid to think of three reasons etc

I could make a good castle, just tell me how you want it even though we are enemies...

Actually that is pretty similar to an idea I was toying with. Each Kingdom could have its own element, it would help make each more unique.

Dustari is Fire
Zormite is Water
Underground would be Earth (if it is still gonna happen...)
Samurai would be Wind

Now that Pirates are here I'm not sure what they could be... they could take Water in place of Zormite if they never come back. Or they could have a whole new element.
