haha, that would be cool! then they could board the ships and take it over!

no you dont, they are the fire kingdom now. And graal takes place in a fantasy age, so calling it "Medievel" is just stupid. Dustari are train tracks leading to their castle.

And as for the Airship ((balls to Tupper ;D))
A few years ago, a few Dustarians stole some Machines from the now empty Zal labs. After a few mages studied it for a while, they combined their fire magic with it for a truly wonderful artifact, the flying machine. They only had enough Zalmaterial to to build 1 large engine, and an engine for a small ship. These engines run off of Zalat, and a very powerful magic energy created by an unknown artifact ;D. These ships are reletivly unarmed due to the weight of weapons, but they can carry enough hand held bombs to destroy a small town. The ships crew consists of a pilot, a navigator, a captain, a few soldiers/deckhands, and a small group of archers and bombs to attack. Though these ships can fly, they are easily brought down.

You forgot the steam engine. The Graalian world already has one (the train), why not use one, in combonation with some basic magic, to power an airship?

Like I told you, I am working out the technicaliaties now. Every little thing will be explained.

the train doesnt run off of steam, and even so, a large ship flying ship could not run on steam, that would be a hell of alot of steam. plus, steam is boring, and introducing graal into the steam age would ruin it. I say you make a hybrid between high powered alien technology, and old fashioned kill everyone fire magic :)

Then what does the train run off of?

Please, no aliens, and no magic crystals. There is only one magical item used for the ship, it is the crystal used to steer the ship.

feivel 03-27-2002 05:20 AM

Are you all ignoring me,
I say I will build Tenba!!!!!
mwahahah

crystal to steer? now that is looney. and these arent alien crystals, they are peices dismantled Zalactic ships, with their power quadrupled through the application of extreme fire.

and what are you talking about, dash? a giant robot?

feivel 03-27-2002 05:28 AM

No im speaking of tenba,
flying horses :D
of course these wont be horses with wings,
just little lightweight lacquered wooden frames surrounded in layers of tarred cloth that use some kind of stolen dustari junk to fly :P

_0AfTeRsHoCk0_ 03-27-2002 05:37 AM

I remember Sky Pirates, exact same concept, and hey, Cohn was the leader of it! He was going to put his airships on Faheria, and he even said that they might be able to goon Graal 2001. So don't tell us that this plan is impossible, it's very possible indeed.

As for Dustari and unfair advantages, what do you think we will do? Start running our ships into enemy bases? Land on their roofs and raid their castles? Of course not, it's just something fun. I can understand that Pirates are against it, because I was talking this over yesterday with Dustari's head scientist (part of the airship development team) and if we have airships Pirates are pretty much sitting ducks. But the majority of the airships will be for research purposes, and one for the King and his royal family. Who knows, maybe the other kingdoms will get airships someday ;)

feivel 03-27-2002 05:51 AM

Oh yeah well my Kenba are 100% more efficient then your ships wanna know why?
There s no research involved,
i just have to steal your when your done with it rotflmfao

It makes sense if I explain it all out, but I am still working on it.

ha, you cant beat my hardcore debate style.

Jin2 03-27-2002 06:19 AM

There shouldn't have been trains in Graal 2001. Also, that site you gave me Tupper doesn't explain anything. Medieval times were before 1643.

THIS.
IS.
NOT.
OUR.
WORLD.

It is a COMPLETELY diffrent universe with a COMPLETELY diffrent way of things happening!

It doesen't matter, because in the end, airships will become a reality, one way or another.

Don't bother trying to argue, I tried it.

Ghost Pirate 03-27-2002 06:41 AM

Hmmm Fire magic makes airship go vroom while dark magic makes slipgate wormholes

And the Graal2230 Starship powercores are cans of Dr. Pepper

c0nsp1racy 03-27-2002 06:43 AM

2230 is the reason 2k1 never gets updated right? Cause theyre always working on 2230

the reason 2k1 never gets updated is because of 2002

And that 2230 bit was ment as a joke

Don't you remember in Back to the Future 2, where the DeLorian used trash as fuel, and they threw a Dr. Pepper can in it?

There you go.

Okay, since everyone wants a way to complex techno speak answer, prepare for the Head Scientist to appease you:
First and moremost Dustarian Fire Magic does more than burn stuff, it can also be used to create forms of paramatter. This paramatter is created through the focusing of a Dustarian magi will through a crystal that has a resonation equal to that of most Dustarians. This resonation of will then manifests itself to direct huge quantities of steam through channels defined by the paramatter, then transformed into a form of propulsion energy. It's that simple, and that hard. And that's just the basics of how to power the ship!

Dumbed down version and Graal translation:
Da ships is only pilotable by Dustari's
Da crystal reads yo mind

Don't hate me because I'm a genius. Hate me because I'm conceited.

Ghost Pirate 03-27-2002 08:25 AM

Wasn't the Weatherlight powered by Arcane Magic?

ghostsamurai 03-27-2002 08:45 AM

that explanation is really stupid, why the hell wouldnt you set up a mechanical system to control the power, and why do you need steam for that if you can create extreme amounts of propulsion?

Nothing can be created. And aslo, as for what technology advantages Samurai could have, how about a system of sprinklers installed in your farms? Now if you all don't mind, I have to get back to researching the Synch Wave effect of Makeo Crystals as a way to boost the performance of pilots.

Heat rises, how do you think hot air balloons work?

Let's just suppose that airships are like blimps, which are filled with helium but suppose this was an airship with a hot air balloon type device. That is totally legitimate.

Santerrian does not have much Iron Ore, it is a hot commodity that is put toward statues and weapons, not plumbing ^_^
and quit using big words or I will have my mage friend cast a mass retardation spell on Dustari. You guys arent genious psi's. you are far from it.

I would accept that, as long as it wasnt a mind control magical steam ship. But I think it would be cooler if there was some sort of extremly volitile/rare/powerful artifact powering a system of anti-gravity drives stolen from the abandoned zal labs.

LilNiglet 03-27-2002 09:04 AM

HAS NOBODY ON THIS FREAKING GAME HEARD OF A FREAKING STEAM ENGINE. IT IS USED IN COAL POWER PLANTS, NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS, WHATEVER!

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK DRIVES THE FREAKING TURBINES?#@!?$

GOD!!!!

THERE ARE NO "SSJ4000 CRYSTALES OF DOOM" IN THE WAY I HAVE DESIGNED IT.

IF YOU WERE INTELLIGENT, YOU WOULD KNOW HOW A FRAKING STEAM ENGINE WORKS!

GryffonDurime 03-27-2002 09:05 AM

And I am not a Dustari or Terran by birth, but a demon prince trained in the arts and sciences. ((See my chara profile at http://www.angelfire.com/empire/rpdiary))

ghostsamurai 03-27-2002 09:31 AM

I've never seen a steam powered flying machine, unless you count a blimp ;D
And as for Gryffon, YOUR RP STORY MAKES ME SAD.

GryffonDurime 03-27-2002 09:40 AM

Good sad or bad sad?
