No, After ZO (Zelda Online) The were going to call it Grail, because of the classic quest. But, 'Grail' was copyrighted as another name, so they came up with a different spelling 'Graal' still meaning 'Graal'
(The whole truth)

Not sure... Graal is used in many different variations.

There are french Graal Church institues and such..... so I would assume it's a European spelling for Grail.

I also think some Latin variations accept Graal.

And -- no one can copyright "Grail". That would be like copyrighting "dog".
If somehow they did, then you could easily get away with using that name anyways.

Stefan said the pronounciation is that it 'rhymes with Carl' and that Unixmad suggested the name (graal is the French word for chalice, and from it we get the English 'grail')

ZanderX 12-06-2001 05:44 AM

"Graal" in German is pronounced "Grahl" which rhymes with Carl. End of story. If you want to pronounce it in an English speaking way, do it how you want, but the German pronunciation is "Grahl". I have German speaking relatives. :)

feivel 12-06-2001 07:58 AM

grrr i think its grahl,
it may have been intended to be pronounced as grail but by the spelling its grahl, or grawl,
you get the idea....
and i wanna go in dustair castle!!!!!!
