Sorry, not in the same way the door into the base can.

Godzilla 01-27-2014 03:41 AM

I remember when BlueMelon bought "Era Hotel" for a million dollars (I assume he used the same cash he found from dupers, scammers, just basically illegal money that would of been in the economy regardless if he didn't find it) and made it NPC ran.

Before I was excluded I took over 30 million out of the economy (with the exception of Nas taking like 3 million off a player who did nothing at all wrong) why not just go the same route he did? buy everyone's business for a mil, it would be in the economy regardless unless I hadn't of found it so why not put it to worth so you can start to balance things out?

Make all business' NPC ran and make it so they can be raided by gangs for hold outs of cash or something creative to incentive gangs to raid. (Just throwing out a 2 second thought idea that could or couldn't work due to many exploits that could be fixed/couldn't be fixed)

Edit; Also I'm not saying negotiate a price, they either take the 1 million flat or get nothing, they have no other options. It benefits the game, if they have a problem with that than they're obviously not thinking straight. (Also last time I saw business' getting sold and handed around they were only going for 300k (That was for Dairy Hut) I highly doubt anyone will argue with a million dollars, that's like a whole years sales for a food business and 2-3 months for the others.

Zongui 01-27-2014 04:04 AM

i heard era hotel went npc owned because it was barely making cash when it was player owned. i think other businesses like pt, gp and am don't have a problem making money. i dunno about the food businesses on era tho.

-HateD- 01-27-2014 04:36 AM

Some people play era for the business aspect though. Why take that away from them?

Zongui 01-27-2014 04:54 AM

yeah some people play games for stuff like that. one of my friends plays WoW only for the crafting. she doesn't care about the raiding or pking or anything like that. just the crafting.

Exactly the same way... I even made an alternate sewer route to BH because people kept p4ing the ladder, but you could just p4 that warp too, if anyone bothered to use it.

What?
This is silly. It seems like the whole post was a random idea thrown behind your usual 'praising yourself' paragraph.

It was taken away simply because the business kept being traded and owners kept asking for stupid **** like redoing a level with lights even though none of it mattered to us and the whole thing was kinda a joke, considering the original EH wasn't meant to be owned by a player in the first place he just took it from him and refunded him the price.

Other businesses are a totally different story.

Simple suggestion, no need to get hate-filled with your posts, something I've noticed a lot from you lately. It's funny though how your behavior works, when you're staff you seem to be one of the nicest guys on Era, as soon as you're not you turn into a little hate-filled kitten.

@Koho
That quote could be taken two ways. Sacrifice on our part to continue to let business owners have their precious businesses, or sacrifice on the business owners' parts so we can have better businesses.

Is it not selfish of us to ask them to give up their whole reason for playing this game?
Is it not selfish of them to ask us to let them have their little business owners club at the expense of the having the opportunity to make businesses better?

I quoted Booger so we both know what way it should be taken. Does it matter if it could be taken a 100 ways? We both know what way it was directed. Who said you need to ask them to give up their business? The idea behind this was to sacrifice their business for great achievement instead of being selfish and keeping it when it's not the best thing to do.

Stop with these efforts at going around at the attempt to correct people when in fact you are just making yourself look stupid as ****.

shrimps 01-27-2014 08:55 PM

You guys should give up all your items and quit being selfish also. See I can be childish as well.

Rezzing cause nothing was (or is... in general) ever done about this issue despite staff responses and agreements.

First actual raiding for myself in some time, and despite the multiple 10+ killstreaks before I even got significant backup; there are more and more players seen simply 'buying kills' through this method of laming unavoidable level transitions with kill-bombs.

Please address.

Tim_Rocks 02-23-2014 03:23 AM

I would like to point out that I did make a script that would prevent bombs from being put in those unavoidable locations. That being said, I was told I couldn't implement.

BlueMelon 02-23-2014 01:09 PM

A poll is now available in-game so it can reach the majority of players.
Results and poll feedback will be shared in 7 days.

Question is a bit unfair as you mentioned the ice traps with explosives. They are too different things. Bombs is totally fine and i have no problem with them being allowed to place infront of doors as you can do that in real life and there is a 20 second limit so no problem here.

On the other hand, ice traps & sandbags is a different thing. Why would you do that in real life?

Ice traps is stupid and only used to lame doors which is a different thing altogether and should be stopped. Sandbags are only used nowadays for floods etc i doubt you will get a flood on era, well sometimes you do when rogue QQ's but sandbags wouldn't help that situation as it most likely would be a tsunami with the amount of tears he would shed.

Anyways my point is. Explosives are fine but fix the ice traps and sandbags.

BlueMelon 02-23-2014 02:44 PM

@Koho, That's something you can leave in the feedback section in-game (just copy/paste)

This whole thread was created in regards to explosives.

Argument based on realism oh god I'm dying.

The 20-second timer has pretty much eliminated the ability to spam a base consistently with explosives if people are raiding. What more do you want blue QQ

Koho's right in saying that ice traps and explosives are different. IMO, ice traps should be considered -less- of a problem. I can set down a bomb and go guard another door, but an ice trap at least forces me to be proximal to the area I'm trying to beseige.

I could have left this in feedback, but I've been too busy flying around on my witches broom and my supersled and other such realistic things Also I forgot ok don't judge me this is an open discussion damn

There should not be any item or set of items that takes away nearly all a player's life instantaneously and can be used endlessly without severe repurcussions. Someone either create an extensive hit recovery so that P4 and Proximity mines cannot both hurt you simultaneously, or severely nerf them both.

It's annoying when newbs lay these at every door because they can't pk.

Yeah, that's all.

TheLinkMan2002 02-24-2014 02:16 PM

Another thing that should be changed. ( borrowing from a common mechanic in mmo endgame bossfights) When multiple people are getting hit by the explosive have the damage spread out and distribute evenly based on how many people are effected. That way if the explosives are unavoidable you could always strategize with your team still and have everyone absorb the damage together for a reduced effect.

shrimps 02-24-2014 02:47 PM

Or just have one person eat all the damage and the team is fine.

Fiberwyre_P2P 02-24-2014 09:04 PM

Demisis_P2P 02-25-2014 06:41 AM

Dividing the damage between players is stupid. That nerfs explosives in general but doesnt solve the problem at all because people can and will still put explosives on doors.

I believe doors are already linked serverside, so you could trigger an action between the external door that you can have to break down and the interior door that the explosives are on to detonate the explosives when the door takes damage.
Then players can still use explosives in general and can create traps around doors, to strategically block off entries or exits, just not on the door to lame.

Along the same line of thought, a snakecam item that tells you how many people are inside a level and if there are explosives within say 6 tiles of the door would be cool, and would save breaking down a door to raid a base only to find that the whole base is empty. Or if you know it's not empty, choosing an entry that has the least people in the room.
