You are correct in an ideal raid. But then you need to account for those who log off or run away without dying.

Consider this situation using both point methods:
  1. Gang A and Gang B both start out with 0 points.
  2. Gang A earns 100 points, Gang B is slacking and earns nothing.
    • Old method:
      - Gang A has 100 points
      - Gang B remains at 0 (as far as I remember, points didn't go in the negative)
    • New method:
      - Gang A has 100 points
      - Gang B remains at 0
  3. Later that night, Gang B earns 100 points, Gang A doesn't earn anything.
    • Old method:
      - Gang A loses 100 points, and is now at 0.
      - Gang B has 100 points
    • New method:
      - Gang A keeps its 100 points
      - Gang B now has 100 points
  4. Final Score:
    • Old method (Gang B wins):
      - Gang A - 0, Gang B - 100
    • New method (Tie):
      - Gang A - 100, Gang B - 100

So let's think about this for a minute...how the **** is that fair? Both gangs earned a total of 100 points, and yet Gang A loses? With the new method it was a tie (how it should have been).

If points did go in the negative, then you're right, nothing changed. But players would much rather see 100 and 100 over 0 and 0 -- everyone wants recognition for the points they earn and 0 is hardly doing justice to both gangs' activity. A lot of players didn't like the old method, and that's why they suggested it should be changed.

In the old method:
If Gang B Gains a 100 Points, Gang A would NOT necessarily lose all its points, unless Gang B gained its 100 points from KILLING Gang A.
Only way Gang A suffers a loss, is if it LOSES a raid.

In the new method, Gang A still suffers a loss, if it loses a raid.

Therefore, only thing that's changed is people don't notice or "feel" that loss because the points don't drop.

In any event, this method is more like training wheels or newbie protection, I guess. Seeing as if Gang B beats Gang A for a 100 points, they'd simply be tied. In other words, Gang A suffers nothing for losing (the hell?).

If that's the change they wanted (not sure why), they got it. Then again, you still lose your 0 point lead, just don't fall a 100 points behind in the process (lol).

Everyone in this thread is wrong.

What needs to happen is this: 1 Gang kills everyone

Actually, He's right. They havnt been 500 point blowouts since this. The current gap was created because Colt got BB, and did a tag wipe which in turn removed all of BBs points back when it was about 100-150 score. Then a few people (including myself) left and they lost another 50 points. Then the fact that BH is better makes up for the other 100. :asleep::asleep:

HAHAHAHAHA, they wish. Running and eating cookies doesn't make you better. In fact most of them run even when they outnumber someone.
