View Full Version : Climbing a rope/vine

Can any one program a vine NPC so that when you touch it, you stick to it and can climb it (Side view) and and by pressing s, you can dislodge yourself at the same y (Unless it's not needed)

Any ways, this is supposed to work with the jump n run scripting......

I'll post the file needed for the vine :)

make a gani for the player climbing sideways.. like one that he is holding and moving his hands. and one that he is just still.
then its pretty easy from there. but to make it wit the jump n run u gotta add more crap

I can do everything but the S part like you just clim up the vine and nice picture ;)

In my jump and run script, I just have if(!(playerx in |30,32| && playery in |0,20|)){ before the gravity bit...the ladders are predefined that way. You could define them dynamically with like npcs[this.i].x and stuff, but mleh.
