http://www.partnersinrhyme.com/soundfx/warsounds.shtml has a bunch of royalty-free sound effects; it's not too tricky to find one, use Windows Sound Recorder to pare it down to the parts you want, and vastly improve on a server's multimedia aspect. :-D

Lulz, yes quittar, true hardcore sfxers make all their own sfx from scratch.

For the rest of us, Look, Free SFX! Let's raise the bar by having decent quality audio with minimal hassle! Yes, custom audio's better, but any beats none.

I don't think I've ever seen an SFX staff make a sound clip from scratch.

Euh, the bowling sound clips were one of my LATs out back with a bunch of glass bottles and a really good microphone; the Bruges Bird and the Whistle are both resampled bad-microphone recordings of me...

Don't be too quick to talk... I have made many recordings and used Adobe SoundBooth to modify them. For swords clashing, i'be actually taken to knives against and also done to actual swords clashing with my friend opposing.

Because "true sfxers" like himself spend a lot of time Googling free sound clips to use as their own, you're making it to easy for him.

As long as the person doesn't claim them as their own work and gives proper credit where due, I don't see a problem with it.

Still doesn't make someone a true sound designer, really.

True, but it also means they aren't a part of the SFX Admin Team
