Gambet has finished the new pet system and has released all of its features and contents in a thread on the NP forums. I'm posting the same information here so that the players that don't normally visit the NP forums can still be informed about the update. Here's a copy of his post:

So, I've finished the new pet system. Currently, the only thing that needs to be added is a method of actually getting a pet, which will be via a quest. Everything else is complete. So, for now, you can't get a pet, but I'll make a quest soon.

NOTE: Old pets will be removed.

Features

*Ability to have pet follow you
*Ability to have pet stay in one spot
*Ability to have pet roam about randomly
**Pet stat system
Ability to carry/drop pet
Ability to feed pet
Pet leveling system
Pet mood system
Pet battle protection system
Owner and pet life interaction system

*These abilities have a pet level requirement.

**Stats differ depending on type of pet. All pet types start off with the same stats at level 1, but start differing from each other once they start leveling.

Interactive Bond

Basically, you and your pet form an interactive bond. You both try your best to keep each other alive. If you're at half of your health or under, your pet will fully heal you as long as it hasn't healed you within a minute before. If your pet loses 10 HP, and you have health to give, you automatically forfeit 1 HP in order to heal 10 HP to your pet. So in order to kill someone's pet, you'll have weaken their owner first. Pets are too strong to kill unless you have a pet of your own, so it's extremely important that you get a pet and train it if you hope to stand a chance against other pets.

Battle Protection System

If you're attacked, or your pet is attacked, then your pet automatically goes into attack mode and begins attacking the person that either hit you or them. They will not stop attacking unless you tell it to stop via the Follow function or the Stay function, or until the person they're attacking either dies or logs off. Once your pet has killed the person, they will automatically switch to Follow mode and they will follow you.

All pets deal the same amount of damage to players, regardless of type and level (this is because NP doesn't have a custom health system, so there's no other way of really doing it). A pet deals 1 HP of damage every X amount of seconds to a player.

If your pet dies, you will not be able to use it for 3 minutes as it heals. Also, if your pet dies, it will lose half of its Mood Points.

When it comes to fighting other player's pets, if you have your pet out, then you'll gain your pets strength. The damage you deal to a person's pet is dependent on a formula that checks your pet's strength and the defense of the pet that you're hitting. So, if your pet has more strength than the defense of the pet that you're hitting, then you'll deal massive amounts of damage.

Feeding/Mood System

Feeding your pet is important when it comes to keeping its Mood Points up. Your pets Mood Points determine the status of your pet (Extremely Happy, Happy, Satisfied, Dissatisfied, or Extremely Dissatisfied). If your pet is Dissatisfied with you, then it has a percentage of not following your orders. If it is Extremely Dissatisfied with you, then it has an even greater percentage of not following your orders.

If your pets Mood Points ever reaches 0, then your pet will leave you. You can retrieve your pet in the same place that you buy Pet Food, which is at Petey's Pet Parlor, which is located in the tree-house above the N-Pulse Shrine (start off at level2 and move right into level3 and follow the path past the online level editor - WHICH WORKS AGAIN -, past the stables, past Bomberman X's Bar, past the bridge, and you're there).

Petey sells Pet Food for 5 gralats a piece, and he allows you to retrieve your pet that abandoned you for a price of 1000 gralats (service fee).

Each time you feed your pet, your pet gains 25 Mood Points. So, if your pet has 76 or more Mood Points and you feed it, then you would have overfed your pet, and thus, you won't be able to feed it for 2 minutes, and it will also lose some Mood Points for overfeeding it. Keeping your pets Mood Points up has to do with timing when you feed it, so make sure you don't overfeed your pet, but also make sure that you actually feed it!

Experience

Feeding your pet gives it 15 experience per food given (assuming that it's actually hungry).

Your pet is mostly going to gain experience out of kills. Once your pet starts getting towards the high levels, 15 exp per food given won't be a sufficient way of leveling your pet, so you're going to have to let it PK players in order to gain a good amount of experience. The experience gained by your pet killing another player is dependent on your pets level. The higher the level, the more experience gained.

An owner of a pet gains 1 kill and 1 death for each time their pet kills someone or is killed.

Stats

There are currently 4 types of pets:

angelus
spenguin
cell
demon

All pet types start off with the same stats at level 1, but once they level they start differing from each other (as mentioned before).

General breakdown:

angelus gains great amount of HP, decent amount of str, decent amount of def, and a decent amount of speed per level

spenguin gains good amount of HP, great amount of str, decent amount of def, and an average amount of speed per level

cell gains a decent amount of HP, a good amount of str, a great amount of def, and a decent amount of speed per level

demon gains a great amount of HP, a decent amount of str, a good amount of def, and a great amount of speed per level

NOTE: Regardless of how high a level your pet is, the maximum pet speed is 2. There is currently no level cap.

Pet GUI System

Right-clicking on a pet will bring up the Pet GUI System.

When you right-click someone else's pet, the GUI that you see will look something like this:

When you right-click on your own pet, the GUI that you see will look something like this:

http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/1245/petgui2kk7.png

NOTE: The pets are animated on the GUI depending on the pet's mood

Pets will not be allowed inside sparring levels nor event levels.

And I think that's just about everything (hope I didn't leave anything out).

Enjoy :D

Feel free to post any questions you may have regarding the system.

Nothing will happen to UN's playercount when N-Pulse comes out.

People on N-Pulse are to stubborn to let UN players in. I logged in and some player told me "You play UN? Go back there."

Never really experienced that. Then again, I currently don't play the public servers that much. That's pretty crappy though. Communities should be open to new additions :(

Uh, You can't really take one bad experience with ONE player, and tarnish the WHOLE server's reputation. And yeah, some players are like that but not all.

I think it's pretty cool but nothing TOO amazing xD Maybe if stuff like this was released more frequently and we were told about it, the playercount might increase.

Makes PKing no fun which is why I don't play N-Pulse. I just go on and spar. Stupid idea.
