Alright..
My systems use clientside joins in order to access all of my functions.

One function checks if the player is able to equip an item.
When the player logs on, the system makes sure the player is able to equip everything they have equipped. If they can't equip an item, it unequips it.
However, the check is being done before the classes are joined to the NPC.. So the CanEquip() function isn't being found, so it thinks it's returning true, and unequips all of the player's items.

Is there any way to make it load the class before the 'created' function is called?

Well, when I tried that it simply didn't join.
