Today, I just updated direct X to 9.0C, the new version.
Ever since that, each time Im about to enter a server, where its about to go connect. It goes into the blue screen, with the blah blah message press ctrl alt delete etc.

Yeah well, Im guessing the new version of direct x is not compliant with graal 2.2.?
Im running windows 98 se, and its not my computer.
I formatted ran on a different computer and same problem.

I am going to be completely useless and tell you that you need to update to XP.

Now to be useful.

I am on XP Pro and have 9.0c, and I run Graal just fine. The new version of DX is certainly compatable with Graal. When you said you "formatted ran" on another computer, what do you mean?

I'm on 9.0c @ Windows 2000 pro and it works fine.

Try upgrading your windows. I have used Graal (with directx 9.0c) on xp home, xp pro, and 2000 and they all work fine.

98's Plug and Play capabilities are horrid. 2000+XP make it so much easier.

::waits for linux kids to come in and say that easier isn't the best way::

anyways, yeah. upgrading is your best option. not just for Graal, either. a lot of games run a lot better on XP.

Yeah, you should probably upgrade. I use XP with that version of DirectX and it's working fine. x_x

Drivers up to date? What graphics card and driver version are you using?

The blue screen is kind of a serious error, so it could be a problem with directx 9.0c working with directdraw and windows 98 se...by the way, did this other computer also run Windows 98 SE?

98 SE...hmm.

Blue screen...hmm.

What Alexander said would work, but you could also go through dxdiag and try disabling a couple of features (DirectDraw, etc). I used to have to do that for Rogue Spear.
