The Player Relations team is hiring for PC Era. Do not bother applying if you have an extensive ban history or a bad attitude. If you can't do logs, we don't really want you. Experience is good, but not mandatory.

The files attached will describe the application process and the logs are in the zip folder. Use Notepad++ to view the logs.

Applications are due by September 10th.

Thank you,

Nich

Edit: Alternate to the ZIP download for logs can be found here (http://graalera.com/files/downloads/EraPRLogs.zip).

Is this like the same thing as last time? (assuming Reese finished in like 20 mins).
I'll do one later, gl peoples.

If you're referring to the log test, no. I believe the one they've been using for a long time prior to this was one Zeus made, involving some stuff about Gatling Guns

For those of you that are experiencing the issue where you get random characters, that is because the file is downloading as a .php. I simply renamed it .zip and it opened up fine.

I added an alternate way to download the ZIP file for logs in the main post. If you already downloaded the original attachment and got it as a .php file you can do what Zeus suggested and change the extension to .zip

I really like the idea of the applicant being tested in the application. I am not applying however, but I really think that this should be included in applications more often. It is a really good way of testing if your applicant has the required skills to do their job, rather than setting them up with RC, just to find they have no experience whatsoever and end up terminating their RC 2 hours later. Well done whoever constructed this application!

To be fair, the 'you can only be hired if you have experience' rule doesn't work out after a long time, because new people would never get a job that way, and eventually all the people with experience would go away

That's why we love UC servers?

Well done whoever constructed this application!

Hours and hours of hard work went into creating that log test.

Actually the most difficult part was trying to explain to Alf that he needed to get on another account.

not for nothing, but it takes maybe 5 minutes to teach someone to do logs.
at least, anyone with a brain who can ctrl+f and read at a 5th grade level

Without giving too much away, did those hours of work include noticing the error in the time stamps? :p Thinking people should probably know about this if they're going to apply so that there is no confusion.

There's also an interesting part while the gun in question somehow became two guns in question.

I sat there looking at it for like 10 minutes, laughing, wondering whether it was some sort of game.

It's an error with the logs, it wasn't me! I think I'm serious.

But I would like to apologize to those who thought some of the questions were too personal. It's just my way of trying to get a feel for your personality, because that's such a major part of this job (just being able to read logs isn't going to get you a job).

Good luck to those who have applied and those who will do so in the next 3 days.

Questions

I think those are the same questions Yen use to ask

Odd, if there's no emphasis on experience... whats the point of a "Log Test"?
Not Einstein here, but if an individual doesn't have experience on the job,
how do you expect them to know anything about log surfing?

Secondly, lol... most things that do with PR takes less than 10 minutes to teach.
However, most things to do with Era? (Seeing as PR are supposedly FAQ as well - if we haven't forgotten) That takes a lot longer.

Then again, to teach... I assume you must know. So there's a roadblock.

Doesn't take long to figure out how to read logs if you have common sense.
