Alpho's SFX Sanctuary

Hey all, I'll be posting all of my SFX/Music work in here and would love any and all feedback and criticism!

First song that I actually consider good is one I made a few days ago..
My inspiration for this song came, actually, from Pokemon Yellow. I played it a few weeks ago and relived my child hood; was actually pretty interesting and harder than I had remembered. Trying to sustain the classic chip-tune in this one. Lemme know what you think! Thanks

That's actually pretty neat. What tool are you using?

Thank you! The tool that I'm using for music production is FL Studio 11 (Fruity Loops) for Windows

Have you tried out VST Plugins at all? There are some good ones out there if you're looking to make chiptunes.

Also, a pretty good song. I listen to a lot (A LOT) of chiptunes, and a lot of them can get on my nerves if there's something drastically different thrown in every few measures. You luckily avoid this, and stick to a more memorable melody through the whole thing, which is something I believe will work in your favor.

Thanks! And yeah, I've tried a few VST Plugins like Nexus 2. I'm not sure of any chiptune ones, though. Do you know of any?

Also yeah man I'm always going to be more strung to make melodic songs. I try and mix it up a bit and try to veer away from the main melody and flow into another melody that's similar, and then back into the original one to keep the interest there.

Boy, do I.

Look up 'Tweakbench' on Google. Under their VST instrument section, look up Peach, Toad, and Triforce specifically. They are multi-instrument plugins that allow you to make music using individual note sounds from various famous games.

However, Toad is a plugin mostly full of sound effects, which I wouldn't strongly recommend using in a song unless you're going for something game-specific.
